  Day Treatment Therapeutic School

Prince Street Academy, a program of Arapahoe/Douglas Mental Health Network, is a year-round school approved by the Colorado Department of Education. Prince Street Academy is a therapeutic day treatment school for children ages nine to 18 who have been identified ashaving significant emotional or behavioral problems that prevent them from temporarilyattending their own school.

An alternative to out-of-home placement or hospitalization, Prince Street Academy combines therapeutic services with certified educationprogramming five days a week. Students also receive medication as needed and participate in family therapy as a component of this complete day treatment program.

Children and teens typically spend anywhere from one to nine months at Prince Street Academy before returning to their own schools – although the length of stay depends on the needs of each individual student.

Prince Street Academy is staffed by a program supervisor, certified special education teachers, master’s level therapists, teacher aides and support staff.
