Expansion to our eastern service area...
Approximately two hundred people visited our new offices at 155 Inverness Drive West, Englewood, CO 80112 on Thursday, Feb. 26 from 4 p.m. - 7 p.m. Our dedication and ribbon-cutting ceremony was held at 5 p.m., with Arapahoe County Commissioner Susan Beckman and former Douglas County Commisioner Melanie Worley (currently Communications Director at Developmental Pathways), doing the ribbon-cutting honors. Scott Thoemke, CEO/Executive Director was the emcee. Both board member John Phillips and South Metro Chamber President John Brackney spoke eloquently of the need for mental health services in our community.
Turning Points and Child & Family Services were showcased.
A self-guided tour was helpful in learning about the expanded mental health services for the eastern portion of Arapahoe and Douglas counties. Guests explored the new offices for Child & Family Services and Turning Points, A Counseling and Psychiatric Practice, as well as the now-consolidated administrative offices. Staff, including therapists, were on hand to explain about programs and services. Harp music, hors d'oeuvres and beverages helped complete the evening.
Consumer Support Groups
Both the local affiliate of the National Alliance on Mental Illness, NAMI-Arapahoe Douglas and EMPOWER, were on hand to reach out to consumers..
