Teens in Transition   Free!

The teenage years are often tumultuous, and coping with changes and behaviors can be a challenge to any parent. Parents will find strength and comfort in talking with others and will learn practical ways to cope with this challenging age group from 13 to 19.

While separation and divorce are scary, you can make it through. Learn practical ways to cope and actively take control of the situation.

Adjusting to Separation and Divorce 

Going through separation and divorce can be scary and stressful. With a little help, you can get through it. This eight-week educational and support group will help you get through this major life transition. You don't have to go through it alone! Note: this is not a a couples group.

What Every Foster/Adoptive Parent Needs to Know  Free!

In this monthly education series, offered by therapists well-versed in foster and adoption from October through July, you'll learn from both therapists and other foster/adoptive parents. Get information on the unique parenting issues that arise when you welcome foster and adopted children into your home. Topics cover definat behavior, social issues, attachment, bonding, handling previous abuse and much more! Find camaraderie, support and resources to make the most of the foster/adoptive experience.

Becoming a Love and Logic Parent®  

Learn to stop the bickering, tantrums and meltdowns! This proven series provides parents with easy-to- learn tools to solve parenting problems and raise responsible, confident children. Introductory class to learn what it is all about is no charge. Cost per workshop series is $95 per adult, $145 for two - bring your spouse, partner, childcare provider or friend!

This informal one-hour session is for individuals who reside in Arapahoe and Douglas counties who want to meet with benefits specialists to determine if they are eligible for benefits. We'll answer your questions and if eligible, a benefits specialist will help you navigate the process. Free cookies and coffee.

Accessing Services: Navigating the Mental Healthcare System  Free!

How does one get help for a loved one with emotional problems or mental illness? Get tips for navigating the mental healthcare system and support groups in the community.

Parenting the Strong-Willed Child

Strong-willed adults are labeled entrepreneurs, leaders and go-getters. Yet strong-willed children are often considered difficult and demanding. This six-session class discusses ways to allow your child to keep his/her strong personality, while learning how to encourage appropriate behavior at home and at school. Parents only, please; childcare is not provided. Limited to 10 families.
