"Healthy Marriage Project" Workshop — New!
"Within Our Reach "- A Relationship Communication Workshop for Married, Pre-marital and Singles!
Join us for two evenings exploring your relationship and learning new communication skills that will greatly increase your chances for a fulfilling marriage. This workshop is a part of the Colorado Healthy Marriage Project, a statewide partnership designed to inspire cultural change and revitalize the institution of marriage. Secular in nature, the program is offered through a federally funded grant. This class will empower you to:
- Communicate more effectively
- Resolve conflicts with mutual satisfaction
- Solve troublesome issues in marriage without verbal combat
- Have more fun and friendship in your relationship
- Overcome common danger signs that often signal trouble in a marriage
- Deal with the different set of expectations brought into marriage
- Learn how to forgive and move forward

Mental Health First Aid
Similar to Red Cross First Aid, Mental Health First Aid teaches you how to assist until help arrives. This 12-hour training program will teach you to recognize when someone is in emotional crisis or is developing a mental health problem, and will give you a five-step action plan and skills to use until help arrives or the crisis is resolved. Parenting the Strong-Willed Child
Strong-willed adults are labeled entrepreneurs, leaders and go-getters. Yet strong-willed children are often considered difficult and demanding. This six-session class discusses ways to allow your child to keep his/her strong personality, while learning how to encourage appropriate behavior at home and at school. Parents only, please; childcare is not provided. Limited to 10 families.

Wondering how to pay for mental health and substance abuse treatment services? Meet with our benefits specialists to find out if you are eligible for these benefits and get your questions answered. Learn about the process of applying for Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI), Supplemental Security Income (SSI) and Medicaid. Find out what to expect, how the process works, whom to contact, and the forms needed to get the process started.
Who: This informal one-hour session is offered to all individuals, friends and family of those who 1) reside in Douglas and Arapahoe Counties (excluding the City of Aurora) and 2) are interested in our mental health and substance abuse treatment services.
